What to expect: Sweep & Stretch

Question

Anybody want to tell me what to expect with a membrane sweep? During and after if you can. Dr wants to do it next week and I of course googled it and scared the crap out of myself. How long after can I expect to go to hospital? Does it hurt? Should I even get it done?

I had mine done Wednesday. It was uncomfortable. Like one big cramp. And that was it. I did bleed after. I also lost my mucus plug/bloody show. 
I’m still at home without a baby. Lol. It’ll only work if your body is ready. I was 3cm and 70% effaced too.

Its very uncomfortable, you'll spot afterwards. And it doesn't always start labour.
I had it done 3 times and it never worked.

Had a sweep with my First. Some of my mucus plug came out/bled a little but it did nothing for me but did hurt.

I got it done Friday, I was 41+3, and I still haven’t gone into labor. It works for some women and doesn’t work for others. I expected it to be more painful than it actually was. My doctor is shocked that it didn’t work.

It hurts, and bring a pad because you'll bleed afterwards. Had a sweep the other my first, with my second they sweeped me 3 times in 24 hours and labor started too. Good luck!

To me, it felt like a more intense cervical check. I felt cramps the rest of the day and had some bleeding. Had my sweep on a Monday, daughter was born Friday morning.
