Sleeping arrangement for newborn ?

So confused on what’s the safest way for my baby to sleep . Positing here because you ladies will have experience but I’m expecting my first baby in August and would love to start looking into options . Thanks in advance!

I had both my kids in a bassinet next to my bed for about three or four months. Then we stared using the crib in the nursery when they got better at sleeping through the night at longer intervals.

In their own bed in your room for the first 6mo is best.  We did that with my daughter, with my son we moved him into his crib in his room at about 4mo, he slept better.

I used a co sleeper baby had there own space but they were right next to me and easy to grab to breastfeed

I think that according to doctors and experts, the safest place for a newborn baby to sleep is in a crib in your room, not in their own room. Tbh, I’ve coslept with all my kids and will continue to. But that’s me. 
Being a first time mom can be scary and overwhelming. I would recommend having the crib in your room for the first 6 months, it’ll be much easier to get up to tend to baby when they aren’t in another room.

We sleep our babies in their cribs from day one. It removes the transition and the walk to the crib helps me wake up so I don’t fall asleep nursing. Right now the APA recommends a crib in your room. But other studies show this interrupts your sleep and theirs with the constant moving. This increases depression from lack of sleep. Whatever you decide, just don’t let the baby sleep in your bed. My dad is a pediatrician. He has attended four funerals for babies. All suffocated in the bed.
