More kids?

Question

I have two beautiful babies but my husband and I just don’t know if we want more. Sometimes I think yes, for sure, other times I think I’m content with life. How did you all make the decision to have more kids or not?

This will be my 5th pregnancy and my second healthy living child if all goes well. Honestly, I have health issues that get in the way. I have severe epilepsy that will never go away, no matter the treatment. My body cannot handle stress well, and with age the risk of something happening to me gets higher. I had my first at 27, and my last at 30. I'm okay with it. The devastation of multiple miscarriages is hard and each time it just got more difficult. I never gave up hope bc I do believe in miracles. I could also never take that option of another child away from my husband. He really was the one who helped me get through everything. With my first, I never had a single seizure the entire pregnancy. I was grateful and it was a breath of fresh air. I could drive. I could do things I normally can't. And I had my independence back for a short while. Two weeks after I had my son, I was nursing him and I barely had time to get him out of my arms before two seizures hit. Little did I know that nursing caused overstimulation of my brain which meant more seizures were on the way. It's hard. I always imagined a huge family but I just can't provide that. So, we've made the decision two kids is enough. Regardless of gender, they will be enough. My first is my miracle, my second is an even greater miracle. We do want to adopt down the road if circumstances are right, but this is how we came to the decision we did. ❤️

We originally wanted 3 kids but we ended up having a girl, then a boy,?18 months apart. We knew we would have waited a bit for a third after having the first two so close together and by that point it’s very hard to want to reset your life again when you are just getting it back.’I knew immediately after having my second I was a two kid mom, no more.
I cried every day after having him because I felt so badly for both my babies because I could not give either of them the undivided attention they deserved.
I get easily flustered and overwhelmed and as an only child, I knew I just couldn’t deal with the hectic lifestyle or the splitting of my time between any more kids when I was so invested in giving them my everything.
So yeah, we’re done at two.

I originally wanted a lot of children. I have been pregnant 3 times. I have 2 beautiful, healthy babies and I have an angel baby. My second pregnancy was preterm. I have a handsome 2.5 year old from that pregnancy. Although my doctor next officially said I was high risk for my third pregnancy, another doctor did. That doctor made me keep coming back for ultrasounds even though my doctor didn't. They also couldn't see the heart which I then needed a fetal echo. It was emotionally and financially draining. I have a beautiful little 4 month old that is the spitting image of her daddy. My life is complete. I love my babies and am so happy to have them but I never want to be pregnant again. Which means we are done. (Unless we have an oops.)

So my goal after having my first was 5 kids and at least one adoptive... but I had an amazing labor and delivery and he is such a good kid! I just gave birth again and while it amazing, almost exactly like the first.. these past couple months have been sooo much harder.. so right now I’m torn also! That’s why I got the 3 year birth control.. so I can really think about it! I know for sure I’m still adopting or at least fostering! 
But that’s me! If you and your family feels ready for another then why not??
