Anterior placenta anyone?

Today at my 20 week scan the tech said I have an anterior placenta. Does anyone know what this means or if this causes problems down the road? Sadly I don’t feel much movement but the baby was moving the whole ultrasound. I feel very little flutters in the morning and at bed time. I hope I feel more soon!

I have an anterior placenta it’s just an extra layer between baby and stomach or something like that, it doesn’t do anything different tho. In my case I felt like I didn’t even have that bcus I felt baby around 16weeks and she was always super active. A lot of woman with that don’t feel baby as much or just feel it later on, everyone’s different.

I have one.  Have had no issues just took a little while to feel the baby move. I started feeling things before my husband could. 27 weeks now 💝

I have it with my third. Felt baby around 10-11 weeks then nothing until after 18 weeks. I’m a few weeks away from term and feel baby crazy lots and crazy strong. Nothing wrong or abnormal with anterior placenta and it doesn’t cause any problems.

I had it with my first. It didn’t cause an issue. Just didn’t feel him as early. If it lies low it could be a little more difficult during c section if needed.

I have it this pregnancy. It just means the placenta is attached on the front of your uterus (think belly button side) toward the front of your body. It can cause you to feel movement from the baby later than average (because of the extra cushion) and possibly slightly interfere with early abdominal ultrasounds since it’s more material for the waves to move through. As long as it’s not covering your cervix it shouldn’t matter in the long run!

You will! I have an anterior placenta. 24 weeks today and have been feeling major kicks for a little while now, last few days we can feel the kicks on the outside too every so often (when shes really kicking). Doesn’t cause any issues though.

I have an anterior placenta with my current pregnancy, but I didn’t with my first. With my first I started feeling flutters around 18 weeks or so and my husband was able to feel strong kicks by 22 weeks. This time around I still was able to feel flutters pretty early around 15 weeks, but very rare and I had to really sit still. I started feeling real kicks around 25 weeks, but I didn’t feel strong kicks or notice a routine till around 30 weeks or so.
