I had something happen to me awhile ago and I would love feedback on it. (I found this app after and I would love to hear from others😊)

My ex coworker (we weren’t friends but I was still friendly with her) asked to borrow my Disney headband ears for spirit day. I brought them to her and she pulled them so hard they broke! I’ve had plenty of ears in my day and I’ve never broken one pair! Anyway she said she felt really bad. I assured her it was ok but she could just give me 25 for it. She said ok. Well weeks go by and nothing. She ended up telling me I shouldn’t lend things out if I don’t want them broken and she shouldn’t have to pay me back. I told her if I broke something of my friends I would be more then happy to pay them back for it. I would have been ok with even 10 from it. Just a little something to say I’m sorry. I wasn’t working at the time and she was. What do you ladies think? Should I not have asked for money? She made me go weeks without telling me. I would have respected her more if she told me she wasn’t going to pay me right away. It was a small private school so everyone knew each other. I also let my good friend borrow something and she overheard and asked to borrow the ears. I’m a nice person but I feel like it ruined me letting others borrow things. Even close friends! Do I let one bad apple ruin it?
