How long before pregnancy test

Hey there :)

My period is NEVER late so that's why I'm a little antsy about it now. I'm 4 days late today and there might be I change I'm pregnant. Anyone who found out they were through a home test, how long after your late period did you find out? I dont know if I'm jumping the gun or if I should already try a test. Thank you!
