Ladies who wear pads

So since I was 12/13 I’ve only worn tampons with the exception of panty liners. I accidentally grabbed the wrong package and now have regular pads. I tried to use one yesterday and it lasted less than 30 minutes before I had to go switch to a tampon. Question is, how do you stay comfortable wearing them and deal with the weird swishy feeling? I feel wasteful not using them, but honestly don’t know if I can. I feel itchy and and insecure I guess is the best way to describe it, like I’m gonna overflow or something. Any suggestions? I might just end up giving them away 🤷🏻‍♀️
