Missed period

Hey everyone! So I’m on my 5th day of my missed period, I took an at home pregnancy test and it was negative. Has this happened to anyone else? I’ve never missed a period before which is why I was sure that I was pregnant. I was on birth control but I have been off for about three months now. Could I still be pregnant? Should I go to the obgyn? Thank you all!
