So my husband is Latino and I am white. He is first generation American his first language was Spanish and all his family speaks both Spanish and English. I know he wants our child to at least be conversationally fluent but I don't speak Spanish and I think it's best i learn as well so we can speak it in the house and s/he will be exposed to both languages from a young age and I'm the only white non Spanish speaking person in his family now has anyone else learned Spanish as an adult and how did you do it?
