Should I get a job?

So I’ve been wanting a job since I was 14. It would really help my mom out too. I’m about to turn 16, and from what I gathered that’s a pretty standard age to start working. I’d only do it on weekends since I’m still in school but I’m quite nervous about applying for it.

Yeah you have to give them your availability and you can tell them you can work Friday nights, Saturday’s, and Sunday mornings and maybe a day or two out of the week but that doesn’t mean they’ll schedule you then if you talk to your manager. I worked in retail when I was 16 and my manager was careful about letting us prioritize school
