Age? Medication? Fertility

Me and my partner are about to try to have a baby.

I’m off birth control, have been for a few months now.

He’s older than me (he’s 37 I’m 24) and this will be both are first time.

But I’m unsure whether he can have children? He’s on certain medication that could possibly lessen his sperm count or mobility and has been on them for many years.

He’s only ever had one pregnancy scare with a past partner so I’m wondering if anybody else has ever had this kind of situation or similar and it just happened to be bad luck that they never conceived in the past? Or should I give it time and maybe look into help from my doctors?
