Queer, TTC - who goes first?

Partner 1:

.87 AMH

9 follicles

Fibroid in uterine muscle

Age 29 1/2, good health

Does not track cycle

Partner 2:

2.85 AMH

18+ follicles

PCOS but regular cycle

Age 35 1/2, good health but fat

Tracks cycle and appears to ovulate regularly

Partner 2 was going to try first until Partner 1 got the diminished ovarian reserve diagnosis. Now everything is up in the air! Partner 2 is having all the feelings.

Should 1 go first because of DOR or 2 because of age related egg quality?

RE says 1 can’t do <a href="https://glowing.com/glow-fertility-program">IVF</a> and 2 shouldn’t need it. Recommends monitored and I medicated <a href="https://glowing.com/glow-fertility-program">IUI</a>. Thank you for your insight.

Definitely partner 2. Age is a huge factor when determining high risk pregnancies.

Hi Sarah, 
I would say partner 2 first because of age. I know 1 has low AMH but I have learned (informally through my own unplanned infertility struggles) that AMH alone cannot predict difficulty with pregnancy but after 35 fertility does deminish. A recent study about AMH published in the Journal of the American Medical Association from the University of North Carolina shows "these tests do not predict fertility as well as we previously thought." Yes it is still something we must consider however it may not mean it's not possible. I guess it also depends on if you are using fresh or frozen sperm as that can affect things as well (and add to the costs as it can add up quickly). It's never easy to make these decisions.
