Dry socket?

Question

I just got my wisdom tooth extracted 2 days ago however the dentist did not tell me that I had to wet the gauze before putting it in and physically saw blood clots come out when I replaced the gauze, now it looks like a cave/hole filled with yellow/white stuff. Is this a dry socket?

If you’re concerned about it, call your dentist and have them check it out. They will be able to tell you if it is something that needs to be fixed/treated or not. Good luck!

Dry socket hurts soo bad it makes you wanna rip your own head off your shoulders. If there’s no pain your fine. If it’s not dripping/gushing blood then stop with the gauze and continue aftercare as directed by your dentist. I’m a dental assistant, worse case scenario call your doctor asap for instructions.
