When to pop a pimple?

How do you know when to pop a pimple?  I have one right above my top lip and it hurts.

whenever it's at a head and when you run your finger over it, it feels like it's directly under the surface (-:
make sure you use your middle finger and a cleansing wipe/toilet paper for it to "shoot" into. middle finger is slightly less dirty than your index, your index touches everything before your middle.

If there is a head on it then pop it but yeah it's gonna make it eyes water from where it is! U cud get a pin and lift couple layers of skin of and then it will just run out
