Pap smear and sex?!? HELP!

So I had a Pap smear Wednesday 1/23 on Friday to Saturday 1/18-1/19, weekend before me and my bf had sex a lot! I got a call this Wednesday 1/30 from my clinic that I had abnormal cells come up. 
Could it have been caused from unprotected sex I had days before?!?!

I think they say not to have sex 24 hrs before a pap because it’ll mess with the sample. So it very well could be.

I just spoke to my doctor about this very thing. He said sex, using vaginal creams, taking a bubble bath, swimming in a chlorinated pool (along with a few other things I can’t remember) 24-48 hours b4 your test may affect your results. My friend had told me not to take a bath or have sex before my pap and I thought she was insane because I’ve been getting them done my entire adult life and had never been told this. But my Dr confirmed it is true 🤷🏻‍♀️
