Baby girl after 3 boys πŸ˜πŸ’œ

Krystal

On Thursday January 24th, baby failed an NST at my appt so I was sent to hospital for more testing where I also had high blood pressure and protein in the urine. They decided to induce the next morning and gave me a dose of labetalol. Since I was already 3-4 cm they would start me right on pitocin. I went home to pack my bags and stuff then went to go to the bathroom before bed. My water broke while pushing for a BM lol. I went back to hospital where they admitted me and had me rest overnight. They started the drip at 6:30 am and I spent most of the day resting hoping contractions would come on stronger. Finally around 12:30-1 I start having good contractions I can actually feel (before that I was only feeling pressure and was getting so mad it was taking so long since my pitocin was already at 20 units/hour) so I ask the midwife to check me and I’m around 5 cm. I started breathing through contractions and kept getting up to the bathroom. The contractions were getting more intense with lots of pressure so I asked for a check again around 2:40 pm. I was still only 6 cm but contractions were coming on top of each other so I knew it wouldn’t be long. At around 2:50 I started bearing down to push and asked the midwife to check again and I was fully dilated with a little lip so I told her I’m going to push and she can help push the lip away. Since my care was transferred they paged the OB at this time and I started pushing at 2:52. Babies head took a really hard push to bring down and the nurse said β€œI see a little face, this is a OP baby!” The midwife asked me to pant to gently birth her head but my body just pushed her right out into my midwives hands and she handed her to me and let me pull her up onto my chest. Since we were team green after 3 boys I started bawling after seeing she was a girl and said β€œholy fuck it’s a little girl!!!” πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. She was born face up pooping and peeing everywhere at 2:53 pm. The OB walked in and my midwife helped the med student deliver the placenta and they checked for tearing (none πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ™ŒπŸ»). We got about a half hour of skin to skin before she had to be suctioned and given a few minutes of oxygen but then she was brought right back to my chest. We stayed in the hospital until her blood sugar checks were okay and then headed home when she was about 18 hours old. She’s nursing like a champ and her three big brothers adore her ❀️❀️❀️❀️
