It is okay to ask to be induced and most doctors will induce as long as you are 39 weeks and the baby is in good health.

Why would you want to be induced? (I’m really not trying to sound rude or sniping, honestly curious! I’ve heard labour is more painful when you’re induced and you’re more likely to need additional interventions as it’s not your body creating all the necessary hormones?)

It depends on your doctor. Mine will induce at 39 weeks ONLY IF you are dilated 2-2 1/2 cm at least, and obviously if the pregnancy is healthy and what not. Inducing before your body is ready puts you at a higher risk of needing a c-section.

Depends. I asked to be induced at 38 weeks but they didnt agree, my son came 2 days before his due date at 9lbs and 21.5 inches and my doctor apologized for not listening to me since Im only 5 feet tall 😭

Yes. When i was having my first they would induce at 37weeks if asked. But by my second you had to be 39. As long as they had space they would induce.

I voted yes. I was induced last 2 births. Neither were scheduled inductions tho. 
The 1st one I had some blood, went in to be checked. Was going to be induced next day, but doctor asked if I wanted it done then. 
2nd one, my water was leaking but not broke, no contractions that I could feel. So when I went in of course I had to stay since water "broke" like 12 hrs prior. After a few hours nothing was changing so they had to give me the medicine to push everything along. 
I could have said no for either one but I wanted to get it done by that point lol

I know in my area you can ask and if you meet the qualifications (cervix is dilated a certain number and you are effaced a certain amount) you can be induced a week before d-day. And that’s if they have room for you too. Sometimes they don’t have room for an opted induction.

I asked and was told as soon as I hit 39 weeks, so I'll be induced at 39w 2 days. That's if she doesn't come sooner on her own.

U can ask, worst they can say is no . Most dr will entertain induction after 39 weeks
