Best Diaper Pail???

Question

Hey all. 
So I’m almost finished with my registry. I was a nanny for years but I’ve always hated diaper pails. A recent family I worked with didn’t have one. Just tossed the diaper in the kitchen trash. Made sure it was tight. 
I’m on the fence about getting one. They smell terrible when you empty them. The refills are expensive. 
Thinking about the Ubbi. Thoughts? 
Is it necessary?

Honestly I have the diaper genie and I don’t love it. It’s expensive for the refills and tendious to change the bag and wipe everything down. So now I just have a normal trash can next to her changing table and it doesn’t even stink and it’s easier to just lift the bag out.

I'm doing the Ubbi. I lts more expensive, but I bought it off Amazon between using my Prime discount, and registry completion discount, I pretty much got a steal of a deal for it. 
We live 30 minutes from any store so worrying about having refills would just be such a pain. My mom ran a day home and I know she used the kitchen garbage, but I can't see myself doing that in the middle of the night.
Of course the Ubbi is still going to smell when you open it, but so will the kitchen garbage. The benefit is literally no smell gets out once it's shut. Some friends have one and I was quite impressed!

Just buy a cheap $10 trashcan with a snap lid from Walmart. We’ve used this from day 1 and wouldn’t do it any differently. Only rule is take poopy diapers to the outside trash can.

I never had one for my two and not getting one for this one. We just use grocery bags and throw the diapers in our outside trash bin.

We just bought a regular trash can and scented trash bags. We haven’t had any problems. We’re on baby # 2, she’s on solids. Her room doesn’t smell.

Just a trash can with a lid would work just as fine and you don't have to buy refills and everything and its cheaper

This is going to sound crazy but for the overnight diapers we use dog poop bags - put the diaper in them , tie them shut , and then leave them by the changing table until the morning when we put them in the trash.

We have a diaper genie, it worked for us due to having 2 floors. Im not taking a poop diaper downstairs, its going in the genie. 
Once we ran out of what was given to us, we just put normal trash bags in it. Still worked just as well

I didn’t get one, and I don’t see any reason to get one.
