Should I use a OB GYN or midwife ? Pros and cons? Or both?

Answer

I personally prefer a midwife, I had one for my son and will have one for the next. In my experience inductions and interventions were not pushed onto me at all (unless absolutely medically necessary) they just let me body do what it’s designed to do and it was calm. However if you’re having a high risk pregnancy obgyn would be the way to go. And even if you’re not having a high risk pregnancy some women wouldn’t want a midwife and that’s ok. Totally up to how you want your experience to be. I did deliver my son in a hospital and the next one will be too just in case something were to go wrong. Hope my long winded answer helped lol

Both can be great. My doctors office has three midwives and several doctors. Patients are scheduled with many different doctors and midwives throughout their pregnancy b/c there’s no telling which doctor will actually deliver. I ended up having a c section and had my designated dr do it, and I prefer an actual OBGYN, but I did enjoy the midwives at the office too.
