So I’m 20 years old and living with my parents but they’re strict to the point where I have to ask them if I can go anywhere. So, I have a boyfriend and we’re finding it difficult to see each other due to my parents. So I’m wondering if i should just approach them with the typical “I met this guy and he wants to take me out. Would you guys like to meet him first?” Or the simple “I made a friend on campus and he wants to hangout” line?

I have no idea what to do. The last time I did this they tore the guy apart and stopped me from seeing him altogether. This is insane but you guys give good advice and I’m hoping you can help me out.
