Baby clothes

My mom bought quite a few onsies and sleep footies already for newborn to 6 months. I'm not having a shower and just wondering which clothes I need and how many of each size doing laundry once a week or sooner if I can get my husband to do it. 😂 My baby will be born in the summer and we live in the desert so I don't need the usual amount of long sleeve things. I don't want to be that mom who buys too many outfits but I want to be prepared and spend wisely. What worked for you?
