For a long time I have been muddling through my parents messy relationship. They’re totally separate. They do everything isolated. Always argue. It sucks to be around. I’ve been wanting my mom and dad to divorce for so long but they can’t afford to own two separate places. My dad is now a quadriplegic meaning he requires around the clock care - so my mom feels even guiltier about leaving - but even after this life changing situation their relationship hasn’t changed - if anything it’s worsened. Slowly but surely I’m losing my ability to withstand them being around one another - I’m 17 but I still can’t handle this. I don’t know what to do. I want to help my mom but she can’t do anything - she can’t afford to live somewhere else - not being able to get out of this situation makes me even more depressed. Please offer any advice you have or whatever help you can offer. I’m struggling so bad over here.
