Soft mattress?? 3 months

How old does a baby have to be to use a soft mattress?? I got this for his pack n play and didn’t realize he might not be old enough. He is 3 months old. The product info says it’s between soft and firm but the instructions came with a warning about the softness of the mattress.

Was there a suggested age range on it? Personally, I wouldn’t put an infant on anything remotely soft so I would be weary of the product.

My 20-month-old still has a regular, firm crib mattress. A 3-month-old, especially, shouldn't be sleeping on a soft mattress. It greatly affects their ability to breathe while they sleep. Hence why bed-sharing is so dangerous and frowned upon.

As long as baby is supervised,  it should be okay. I would not walk away and leave baby sleeping, though.
