When is the best time to take an ovulation test?

The instructions on the clear blue ovulation test manual say first pee in the morning is best but for the strips I have it says not the first pee, but between 10-5pm. 
Thoughts and advice?

So according to my strips, i ovulated 2 days ago, however, I haven’t got a single positive on my clearblue ovulation tests (I’ve been using the same urine stream) has this happened to anyone else??

On the clearblue advanced digital, absolutely use fmu as the instructions say. It's wanting the most concentrated sample to test for both hormones.

I would just follow the instructions specific for each test.  Use fmu for the clearblue and don’t use fmu for the strips.

With opk’s, never use FMU (unless instructed in the instructions). Choose two times between 10 AM and 8 PM that you can test at every day at the SAME two times; and use a 4 hour pee hold each time (and do not drink a lot of water during the hold times). Once the test line is as dark as, or darker than, the control line - you have a positive. Once you get a positive, ovulation will occur within 12-36 hours; and the egg - once released - will be viable for 12-24 hours.
