Hello mommas and future mommas!

So I just wanted to write some good news and maybe get some thoughts and what helped all of you guys or if any of you are going through the same thing!

My friend is pregnant and today she had her first real labor scare. She’s had BH before but none were as painful as they were today. The pain started very suddenly and very intense! She felt it in her back mostly and then it all of a sudden was her back and lower belly (where most feel period cramps). They were so intense that she was in tears and could barely walk.

We left work in a hurry and I drove her to the hospital timing the contractions. 5 mins apart and lasting about 1 minute. She also felt a lot of pressure and pain in her pelvis and vagina. When we got to the hospital they monitored for about an hour and a half but the contractions had slowed down however the back pain stayed the same and was consistent.

This is her second child and with her first, she was in labor and had no idea. She did not feel any pain or anything at all. The doctors came into the room and discussed her symptoms and all that jazz and determined she could go home and quote “Continue laboring”. She is 3.5cm dilated and 50% effaced although it didn’t seem like the doctor was too sure. She had an OB/GYN appt last week where she was 2cm and 50%. We are both thinking he is most definitely on his way!

I want to know everyone’s thoughts and if any of you have gone through the same thing! What are some things that maybe eased the pain or helped labor progress? Any advice?

Wishing everyone a safe and happy pregnancy and all the baby wishes 💗
