What did you buy *before* the shower?

I want to buy some things for our little one, but we will be having a shower. What did you get before the baby shower??

I got all big items, and just asked for diapers, sleepers, towels, face cloths, etc
It worked out perfectly for us! And we got LOTS of diapers, we didnt need to buy any until she was about 7 months

Nothing, as I knew we’d get basically everything we needed. lo and behold, we got all the big ticket items. Stroller, crib, car seat etc. after we went and got a new bookshelf and dresser that we decided we wanted, and a few other small outfits to round out our collection.

Everything. I made my registry at 17 weeks and am not at 33. My baby shower is in 2 weeks. I just delete things off the list as I buy them. That way I am able to keep an eye out for a good deal.

Crib, rocking chair, changing table, stroller and car seat we purchased. The rest is on our registry.

Only the dresser... Our family wanted to buy the other big items and we had plenty of family and friends that wanted to gift. We just wanted the dresser bc 1. We wanted it early and 2. It was most expensive. But we previously had the car seat so I guess you could count that.

I won't be having a shower with my 2nd, but I will be doing a gender reveal party and will politely ask my guests to bring a pack of diapers to that. Anything else we need we'll likely already have or buy ourselves. The good thing about not finding out the gender with our 1st is all of our newborn to 6 month clothes are gender neutral.

I’ve bought my car seat stroller combo, swing, I’ll buy my bed and stuff probably this weekend and then just any cute hints I see that I want, my personal opinion is I don’t expect people to buy for MY baby, even though I know my family and friends will and that’s how baby showers work lol only thing I consider expensive which is 100 I have on my registry is my the baby’s crib set

U could always set up a registry and take off anything u purchase so ppl know what u still need
