no more ultrasounds?

anyone else having a “healthy” or “normal” pregnancy, so their doctor isn’t planning on anymore ultrasounds? 
we haven’t seen our little guy in 8 weeks, and the doctor doesn’t seem to have any more ultrasounds planned.

In the UK the last ultrasound you can have is at 20 weeks (unless it’s a high risk pregnancy) I’ve paid for a private one at 30 weeks just to break up that final stretch but from 20 weeks they know if baby’s developing normally and they can measure size by measuring fundal height instead. Plus, at that point you can usually feel movement. So while it’s pretty rubbish to not see baby again, from a medical point of view I can see why they don’t

I had my dating ultrasound at 8 weeks, and my anatomy scan at 20 weeks and those are the only two my doctor will order and insurance will cover as we have a healthy pregnancy. We did an early gender scan at 16 weeks that we paid for out of pocket, and we’ll be doing a 4D at 30 weeks, also out of pocket.

Yeah I’m in Canada so ultrasounds that are req by doctors are free.. you only usually get the one anatomy scan unless something is wrong or a dating ultrasound if you didn’t know when your last period was. You can book and pay to get one done at a private clinic but otherwise it just isn’t standard. I haven’t seen baby for 6 weeks now but I can feel it a ton so I’m not too worried about paying out of pocket for one!

With my old OB I got ultrasounds all the time. New OB only does one at the 20 week mark. Not another one since & they do fetal Doppler but that’s it!

I have to get an ultrasound every 3 weeks due to a fibroid. My insurance will not cover until I hit my $3000 deductible 😑 they run me about $250 every time.

My laat ultrasound was at 20 weeks. This is my fifth child and they never do ultrasounds after this unless there is a medical concern. I am scheduling a 4D ultrasound in a couple of weeks for fun, though!

20w was my last. Australian here. Going by measurements of tummy and how much he’s kicking, we can tell he’s healthy and growing. Not worried at all. Not interested in a private scan either. Ftm.

So far I’ve gotten ultrasounds at:
•7weeks, Fifths disease scare and was having bleeding.
•11w3d, normal scan to see how far along & get our due date estimate.
•16w1d, my best friend paid for us to get an early gender scan for Christmas. ❤️
•20weeks, anatomy scan
•24w5d, today we had a repeat anatomy scan because they initially thought there was an abnormality with her left ventricle in her brain. Luckily all looks normal and healthy now!
• We go back at 32w5d to double check that everything is still good since we had to get a repeat anatomy scan.
We’ve been very blessed that our baby girl is healthy! As scary as the last month has been waiting for our repeat scan today I’m loving that we get to see her extra 💕
