My husband has been sick the last year and a half. Very bad guilt and ptsd. He's not getting help. Never will. He has abused me the last year and a half and refuses to acknowledge it. As far as he is concerned, I am the only problem. Because that's what his mommy and daddy tell him.

I don't see him waking up to reality. Ever.

He wants a divorce. I would love to stay married but it's somewhat pointless when he hates me so much.

He called today and said he's got divorce papers for me to sign. He will bring them over for me. I told him to email the info of whoever prepared the papers.

He refuses.

What happens if I refuse to sign until he gives me the info of the preparer? I want to make sure he got a professional. Also, do I need to get these papers checked by a lawyer before I sign?

We are in texas. No kids. Separated since Jan 5th when he kicked me out.
