Is geographic tongue permanent?

I have it and sometimes spicy, acidic, and salty foods hurt a bit. Or carbonated drinks. Its not all of the time and babys wont be eating that so it shouldn't be painful for them.

I have it. At first my dr just told me it was from a vitamin B deficiency but all of my stuff is completely fine right now and I still get it. It comes and goes and mine is very painful. They used to give me rinses to help the pain but I’m pregnant and I don’t think it’s good to do right now lol

It's benign and usually not painful so I dont think it matters if it will go away or not. It seems like for some it is permanent and for others it isn't. A doctor would give you better advice if you are worried.
