Bathing babies?

I am a FTM so I will admit there is a lot I don’t know yet! I saw someone say their baby was one month old today and celebrated with their first bath. I am really confused. I know babies don’t need to be bathed very often...but an entire month seems like a long time to go. Am I crazy? How often is someone supposed to bathe a baby? 🤔

I didn’t bathe my baby for 3 weeks after I brought her home. But it was also the middle of summer and I live in the desert so I didn’t want to dry out her skin. Babies don’t really need baths all the time unless they spit up or hav massive blow outs. Just clean privates daily.

Until the cord falls off and it heals, no baths.  You just wipe them down with a warm wet cloth.

Some say to wait until cord falls off but that isn't what I have done with my past 6 kids. 
Baby has first bath at hospital, probably about 3 or 4 days of being home I have washed them. It doesn't effect the process of the cord. Just make sure it's dry after and clear of fuzz and such.

I bath them the day we get home/ every four days. And request them bathed in hospital. A month is gross.

I’m planning on washing my baby more often then probably most do🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ve read all the info on it but I can’t stand smelly babies. I’m around kids a lot and they def have a smell when they aren’t bathed for a month.

We did once every 7-10 days with our newborn; it’s really bad for their skin to have a real bath too often. My daughter is two and a half now, and we still only do two baths a week. I wipe her down everyday, but no need for a full bath.

I have done it everyday since the first day at home! Helps them to sleep better and feel comfortable.... just be careful and clean very well around the cord...  sorry but that’s nasty to keep a baby without a bath for days or weeks...

I gave my kids an actual bath once the umbilical cord fell off but before hand I would wipe them down really good with Johnson Johnson and water and lotion them down afterwards. Some people don’t give their babies bathes or wipe offs as much, I have smelled some sour little babies due to the milk that sometimes drips down under the rolls of their little necks I guess but I love when babies smell so fresh and babyish😂

Babies can have a bath as long as their umbilical cord is not submerged for a long time. I bathed my new baby 2 times a week for the first couple of weeks and wiped her down every other day. I bath my daughter every night now-she’s 13 months. I like being clean. My daughter has eczema and her dermatologist recommended bathing everyday and applying lotion. That was at 6 months. Works like a charm. 
I think how ever much you want to bath your baby is just fine. Congrats!
