Depression, tell your doctor?🤔

Should you tell your doctor if you think you’re depressed?

I’m pretty sure I am, what do they do when you tell them? I may be going to the doctors soon (not sure though) probably for a checkup or smth my older brother will most likely be taking me. I’m thinking about if I should mention it to my doctor

I don’t know if I want to though because my older brother will be annoying and start saying dumb stuff like “is she okay, she’s depressed ” “maybe she wants to kill her self” in a joking manner to my little brothers and would probably say “depression” just annoying stuff lol you’d get it if you were in my family but yeah idk I just feel like he’d be annoying and would just keep bring it up

Edit- He’s like 22 I’m 17 & I know he won’t come in the room but I feel like she’ll mention it to him because my mom isn’t there & so he’s my “parent” and the person she would tell
