Are you getting the Nuchal translucency scan?

I’m considering not getting the scan done because I’ve read it’s not that accurate and I won’t abort even if my baby has Down syndrome. The only reason I’m considering it is that it could detect heart problems. What do you think?

Yes I’m getting a NT scan. If something is wrong with my baby. I’d rather know now than in delivery room so I can start to plan for his care/aide if need be

It’s got a high false positive rate, meaning that it’s likely to tell you there is an issue if there really is no problem. That would be a cause to get more advanced testing, like an amniocentesis. 
However it has a really low false negative rate, so if it tells you there is no problem it is very rare that they missed a real problem. 
I’ll do it for peace of mind, but always up to the individual what information they prefer to have.

I’m getting every test offered I want to make sure everything is ok. I know there is a chance of false positive but from there you can see a high risk doctor that can do a special ultrasound to assess you better

I won’t abort my baby if there’s anything wrong with it. For me it’s just another chance for me to see my little bean 🤷🏻‍♀️

My OB doesn't even offer it unless you are advanced maternal age or have had chromosomal abnormalities in past children / pregnancies.

My ob doesn’t offer it but i did have a blood test Thursday for any abnormalities and the sex i got the results today and baby is healthy I’m waiting to find out the sex for another 2 weeks
