My before and after!
I’ve come to realize that for me my weight is really just a number and I measure my progress by how I feel and how my clothes fit. However, sometimes I feel like I’m the LAST ONE to see my progress and sometimes the numbers help to put things into perspective! Last July I felt unrecognizable in my body. I felt unhealthy and unhappy. I had put on at least 35 pounds in a year and my clothes didn’t fit me anymore. I struggled to find ways to dress my new body in a way that I felt comfortable and good.
I decided to start eating a low carb diet (not strict keto) last July and it’s been very successful for me. Previously putting the focus of my meals on the carb as the base, we switched it up to cut out a lot of processed carbs, wheat products and grains. Reduced the amount of potatoes and high starches as well. It hasn’t been easy and sometimes I struggle to meal plan when I know making a bowl of pasta would be so easy and delicious 😫. I still cheat about once a week and don’t make anything completely off limits because I know that for me personally I would only want it more!
Today I found out I’ve lost another 8 pounds since October which puts me at a total of 28 pounds lost since last July. Slowly but surely! These things take time, but with perseverance you can accomplish your goal or do things to make yourself feel better in your body, whatever that is for you! Remember to be kind to yourself and to your body ❤️
