Should I do a membrane sweep?

I’m 39 weeks only 1cm and 70 % effaced. Don’t know much about it and if it’s good for you.

I'd wait until more dilated. If you don't start dilating soon, you run the risk of an infection.

I wouldn’t. There’s no guarantee it will do anything. Except possibly introduce infection as another comment stated. I would let baby cook as long as he or she needs to! Baby will let your body know when it is time! 💗

Not this early, no.
Most women give birth after their due date. I think the average for a first birth is like 6 days after due date or something. So I wouldn't do any unnecessary interventions at this point. Baby just isn't ready yet. Your body isn't ready yet. 
This last bit of waiting is hard, I know! But it'll happen soon, when it's time.

I've heard that it is painful. I'm not sure though as I couldn't get one because I was still 0cm and you have to be dilated before they do one.

Do some research online and maybe see if theres some natural things you can try first. I wouldnt say it's bad if its absolutely neccessary, but I would definitely do some research and see if theres other methods. I wish I had more information on it for you. Best of luck lady ❤
