I’m tired of living this way and need some help

So my hubby and I just moved into our new home. It was our dream home and we moved here to have a place that we’d feel comfortable raising a baby in.

We moved in three weeks ago and my husband still has boxes half unpacked EVERYWHERE. He has trouble letting go of things and has held on to dozens of textbooks from college, masses of tactical gear and I could go on.

Our beautiful centre island in our kitchen has been covered in papers and nicknacks which he says he’s “figuring out where he wants things”

I’ve communicated calmly that I would like him to focus on unpacking and selling gear that was purchased but never used. I feel that I’ve actually been very patient. (I’m not really one to nag or get upset...I just want him to be happy)

I’ve said that “it’s been three weeks and I really want things put away so I can decorate and feel that we’re settled in”

He feels that “it’s ONLY been three weeks!” And will get to it. I will mention that he does work often and sometimes night shifts, so when he is home he’s trying to get rest.

I really need some suggestions on how to move forward with this! I feel anxious with boxes everywhere and feel like every day in our home is “moving day”. Whenever I bring it up he freaks out and gets stressed out! Any suggestions and help would be DEFINITELY appreciated!!!

Sidenote: I have unpacked all the items that I can (kitchen, bathroom, all my personal items) and the many, many items which there definitely isn’t space for is all his that HE wants to put away, so I can’t just unpack it for him...
