This is a long shot

I know this is a long shot but I need some advice. A co worker of mine came up pregnant and cant take care of this baby mentally or physically. My husband and I are the first ones that came to mind for her to adopt this baby. It will be an open adoption (or whatever you call it) she is pretty much giving up all her rights to us (sperm donor wants nothing to do with it) she said all decisions are up to my husband and I for this baby. We live in Oklahoma so I know all states are different but if it's open or consensual do we have to get the state involved? We are trying to avoid that since it's a mutual thing so to say. I've been told that she could write up a letter stating this is what she wants it's for the better and she wants to give up all rights and have none when it gets here and have it notarized. Will that work? We are planning on talking to a lawyer here soon to see if that will be the legal way about it so in the future she doesn't say oh hey I want the baby back. Please help!!
