From what it seems on the news, definitely not. There will be a border with check points? Or if not will N Ireland just be part of the EU still? This all seems really unplanned and a really bad idea to continue without concrete ideas. I don’t think countries should just wing serious things like this.

I really don't know. I've studied Irish History, and things are just too complicated to be confident in making any sort of prediction (in my opinion). I am very interested to see what happens though - because something WILL happen. When Brexit goes into effect, the current status quo will be over and things will change in one way or another - it all comes down to what the current opinions are of the populace, the politicians, the media, the upcoming elections, etc. and I'm too far removed to gauge those things.

Ireland will never unite if there was an attempt you can be guaranteed there would be war in saying this as an Irish woman who lives on the border

There are too many people who don’t want to be part of the ROI in the north. I see Northern Ireland becoming independent quicker than I see an united ireland

I mean.... aside from the fear of another 30 years of violence- it is not so straightforward to reunify a country. It would result in a massive cost/debt to the republic (reunification of Germany cost 2 trillion FYI) also a massive overhaul of infrastructure: our school system is segregated, we follow a British curriculum, we are part of the NHS, we follow British laws, we use the British pound, 50k people in Northern Ireland are employed by the British public sector- what about them? Their pensions? It would take a lot of planning, years of planning and then... what hope we don’t all kill each other? 
I think its optimistic at best.

I’m American, but I do try to follow world news. From everything I’ve read, I sincerely doubt it. Nothing about Brexit seems to be unifying.
