I would pronounce them different. Jayce I would say as Jay-ce which is feminine

If it’s for a boy Jace, for a girl Jayce. I find adding Ys to a name makes it feminine.

I usually do like Y’s in names but I like Jayce, to me it looks more complete than Jace. 
But I def. wouldn’t want someone to mistake it for “Jaycee”.

My friend named her son Jayce and people always call him “jay-cee”. I love this name. If I were to use it I’d definitely leave out the Y.
