Pressure to get married?

We all know that if you’re in a relationship with someone for a long time, a few years, or maybe even if you’re single... people always make fun of you about kids and marriage.
It’s getting to me. I’ve been with my boyfriend 5 years in April and ever since 3 years I hear it non stop. At first it was funny, but now it bothers me. I’m not in rush to be married but the more I get asked the more it makes me think about it and get mad at my boyfriend as to why we aren’t.
Has this happened to anyone, how did you deal with those people?

We didn’t get married until being together for 14 years! So yeah, that’s ALL we ever heard for a bazillion years. We just shrugged it off. And then when we decided to get married all we heard was it’s about time and finally. 🤦🏼‍♀️🙄🤣 
Don’t feel pressured to get married. Do it when you’re both ready.

When we moved in together this started happening.  At Thanksgiving and Christmas especially.  The questions about marriage came first, then a baby.  Someone even said, “I’m not getting any younger and someone else asked I’m still capable.”  My boyfriend is 32, I’m 43.  We’ve been trying for the baby, but who knows if it will happen and I have zero desire to get married.  - We found, “we have no plans for either” is our go to answer and it usually doesn’t get followed up with anything else.  We used to say, “we’ll see,” but that always had follow ups. - When it comes off rude though, I do get a little snarky back.  When the person asked if “I’m still capable” I answered, “I still have all the right parts.” But kind of in a tone that let them know how inappropriate their question was. 
I wouldn’t be mad at your boyfriend though. It’s not his fault people can’t mind their own business.  And when you’re engaged, that just opens up the new set of questions.

We never had any pressure to get married at all, and we only got engaged after eight years together. Just tell them your relationship is moving at a pace that suits you and you will married when you want to.

Why is it up to your boyfriend to make it happen? You are an adult. If you want to get married then sit down and talk about it. If you really don’t want to be then tell those people you never want to get married. It’ll at least get them off your back.
