Will you opt for epidural?

I won't be getting one. I'm more afraid of the epidural than I am of childbirth and I just really don't want it.

Nope. It scares the hell out of me lol. I like being able to walk around and when you get the epidural, they make you lay down for the rest of the time I believe. So that’s a no for me.

I had it last time but this time I am going to try very hard not to get it. I don’t want to be constricted to my bed and I don’t like having to have a catheter.

Epidural is my absolute last resort-I do not want one whatsoever because of the risks and I also wouldn’t be able to stand not being able to move. I plan on having a natural birth but if I really can’t take it I’ll go for IV meds, I don’t want an epidural at all

I’ve had 6 babies completely unmedicated. You couldn’t even pay me to get an epidural.

I have scoliosis and don’t want my back to get anymore fucked up from misplacement or slippage. I didn’t have one with my first and I don’t think I’ll need one this time either.

I made it to 7.5cm with my first and she was stuck sunny side up on my pubic bone. I couldn’t relax enough to help her rotate passed the bone so it was suggested I get an epidural. A few short hours later I was pushing and she was here. 
This time I am going to try again for no epidural but I may get one for pushing. I haven’t decided yet.

I am going to go without if I can handle it. If I am in too much pain though, I'll take the epidural. Unfortunately, pain killers of any sort (numbing shots, ibuprofen, tylenol, literally anything that is supposed to take away the pain) dont work on anyone in my family for very long because of our autoimmune diseases, so I would really want to save it until the end if I need it because chances are high that it will stop working in an hour or less, if it even works at all.

I’ve had four children and wanted an epidural with all. I got to the hospital with my first two dilated to a 10 and after my first being stuck too high for 7 hrs they finally let me have one. It worked on half of my body. My 2nd they said it was too late so I could only get a spinal block which I absolutely loved and would get it ever time if I could. My 3rd and 4th I didn’t have an option for pain meds and my labor was way worse w them 😑 and I was only dilated to a 6 when I got to the hospital. They say it gets easier with each child but it was complete opposite for me. Maybe the pain meds didn’t work great for me bc with the epidural and spinal block I could walk on my own right after deliver
