I had a debt with Social Security Adminstration that I was actively making payments on; and had an agreement with them that as l was on said payment plan agreement and making payments that they wouldn’t take my refund.

Y’all they took the whole thing! My pending deposit is just a few dollars. 😫 I’m so confused as to why they took it when we was in agreement. 😕

I guess it’s honestly a blessing in disguise though, it would have taken me years to pay off this debt by myself. Now that it’s paid in full I can breath and continue working to make my credit better. 😄 Just one more debt to worry about and I’m debt free.

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t upset, I cried all morning because I needed that $10,000 for important things to be done. This is also testing my relationship with my spouse. Surprisingly we are doing great and making moves to get around this. We will make it out together and stronger than ever. Making my budget now.

Edit- I wasn’t In default. Hell I didn’t want to be on this crap in the first place. 🙄 Parents put me on it as a child and when I started working and reporting wages they cut me off and my debt started to rise. 😞 On the paper they send out monthly it says “you’re on a payment plan but we can still take all or a portion of your tax return” NEVER got a paper Notice from IRS. I seen the Tax Topic 203 on WMR and called the number to see what the offset was for. 😞 They just sent me out my payment stub a few days ago. I’m not sure if it was sent over automatically for an offset since it was a large debt or if they did it because they can.

Oh well it’s paid and I’ll save to finish out what needed to be done. I’m an adult and have to own up to my responsibilities and that’s what’ I’m doing! 😄 Just needed to vent. 😅
