Two ‘chemical’ pregnancies in a row?
January I had an ‘early miscarriage’ which was diagnosed after going to the doctor and getting blood work. I got a positive FRER January 18th in the evening. The 19th I started spotting brown. So I took two pregnancy tests that evening (DG Cheapie and CB Rapid Result) They both came back positive. The spotting then increased and turned a reddish brown. By the next morning I was bleeding like a heavy period. I took another DG cheapie and CB RR and the lines were even darker. So the next day (Monday) I went to the doctor and they did blood work and I had to come back in two days to repeat the blood work so they can compare HCG levels. It was such a long drawn out process and I ended up not finding out until that Friday what I assumed all along. I lost it. My levels were 13 Monday, and my Wednesday levels were at 1. They said to use protection if I’m trying and give my body a rest for the next 3 months which seemed a little crazy to me considering I wasn’t very far along. The doctor said 2ish weeks. I bled for a normal amount of time just a little heavier than usual. And there were a couple times I didn’t use protection afterwards which brings us to this month.
My expected period was due a few days ago. After being two or three days late Wednesday February 20th I took two tests at night. A Walmart first signal and a FRER. They both had lines but oddly enough the Walmart brand had a darker line within the time frame which continued to darken. The next morning I woke up to spotting that’s now turned into a full on period. I took another test last night and the line is much fainter. Which I’m guessing means I ‘miscarried’ again. I know some people refer to them as a chemical pregnancy. I’m using the term miscarriage because that’s what the doctor referred to it as last month.
My question is, could there be something wrong with my body? Am I just testing too early and catching the pregnancies that don’t stick because of chromosome abnormalities or for whatever reason? Has anyone had chemicals back to back and gone on to have healthy full term pregnancies? I do have hypothyroidism which is being treated with medication and regular bloodwork. But other than that I don’t know what could be wrong and I’m just worried I won’t be able to have kids in the future. I’m 21 so I’m still young, but I want kids while I’m younger. Sorry this is all over the place. Thanks for any input!
