Did you ask grandparents to get the flu shot?

I made everyone coming to visit the baby get the tdap and flu. If they didn’t they had to wait until she was 3 months.

I asked but grandparents didn’t get anything and we all live together. Now they’re wondering why I won’t let them hold the baby.

Let me say this because it happened to us. Yes to answer your question I did demand everyone get their shots but my friend who is a nurse, who has to get the vaccines- had the shot , visited before she showed symptoms. She tested positive for Flu A three days after visiting us. THANK GOD she didn’t pass anything to us but adults are contagious up to a day before their symptoms start. My whole crew got the shot back in October so idk if that’s why we didn’t get it or because she didn’t cough or sneeze or anything like that. Aside from the flu shot please just make sure people don’t have a runny nose, picking at their mouth etc shit like that. I’d go a step further and make visitors wear a respiratory mask 🤷🏻‍♀️. She was perfectly fine and wouldn’t have come across as sick but seriously the day after she woke up to a sore throat and body aches and fever so I’m just happy we didn’t catch it, that my son 3 weeks old at the time didn’t get it.

Not the flu vaccine but my mom is watching my son when I go back to work and I requested that she update her tdap.

I didn't but that's because I'm in Australia and it's the middle of Summer. If baby was born during Winter I absolutely would have asked them to. I did ask them to get the Dtap booster and any other booster shots they were due for (my in-laws didn't co-operate so they haven't been seeing my daughter as often as my family who actually got all their booster shots & they can't kiss her).

I made a post on my Facebook that you must have received a flu shot to visit. I didn’t ask for proof but I trust people not to lie and those truly against the vaccine didn’t even try to come.
