Transitioning baby from sleep sack to blankets?

Hold old was your little one and how did you make the transition? Any tips?
Update: guys I KNOW they can’t use blankets before one.

Our son used swaddles until about 5 months when he really started rolling. Once he was rolling we just completely stopped using anything and made sure he was in warm jammies. It wasn’t until about 14 months that we started letting him sleep with blankets. And we didn’t do anything special. Just laid him down and laid his blanket over him.

Where I live babies start with duvets from birth, even at the hospital. I only give my som a wool blanket if he sleeps in his stroller or I don’t have his duvet close by. Cant stand fleece! 
 And just to clarify; infant mortality rate here is way lower than in the US.

I took away the sleep sack at around 9 months old. It was getting too small and I didn't want to buy another one. Plus I felt she was ready to be without it. It was one night of transitioning and after that she slept fine. She's almost 2 now 2nd she has a blanket in her crib but she doesn't use it. I always just make sure she's in warm pjs. Usually a footed sleeper.

My son was almost 2 when we started using blankets we changed when he moved into a big bed and does great with it.

Babies can’t use blankets until at least a year. But most kids aren’t able to actually use a blanket to keep warm at night until about 3 years old. Before then they will move in their sleep and kick a blanket off of themselves. Sleep sacks or warm pjs are good options.

Don’t use a blanket yet until they’re old enough (at least a year old). Use a regular sleep sack without the swaddle.

We didn't give our daughter a blanket until just last week at 21 months. There's really no reason for them. And we simply stopped using a sleep sack and gave her a blanket. Cold turkey. We don't believe in turning everything into a "transition".
