Do long distance relationships work?

As everyone else has said. It depends. I've been in a ldr with my boyfriend for 3 1/2 years. But we've broken up, several times. Honestly, the distance can be extremely hard sometimes, enough to make you break up with someone you love. However, if you both care about each other, have trust and are willing to even try, then yes. It can totally work. Besides, the way I see it is that, even if you're apart, for whatever reason. If it's meant to be, you'll both find a way to make it work, even if you break up for awhile. My best advice is to be patient and to try to talk when you can but still give each other space you know. Long distance is still just a relationship, but it's different because you're so far away. You have to have this trust between the two of you. I hope whatever you're getting into has a way of working out well for you :)

Even though I'm extremely aggravated with my boyfriend right now (not even his fault a lil bit - lack of sleep, packing and moving for a week, and period late by almost a week so hormones all over the place), they work if you are both equally committed, communicate really well with each other, and have trust in each other. I love this man with my whole heart and have started applying for jobs where he lives, which is super exciting to possibly be in the same city as him for more than 8 days at a time after 2.5 years together.

I was in one about 3 year long distance relationship and it worked but it was a toxic one, there was a lot of passive agressive temper towards me and not letting me be who I am. But to be fair I was young and very inexperienced making mistakes was expected. But I learned a lot and became a better person. Now I am in another long distance with a great guy only for a year but it's been such a better experience the time I talk to him makes me happy and just feels wonderful. Tips I would give are a lot of trust and communication between partners. I say they work but there needs to be hard work from both to make sure it will be the best for the time being.

Me and my FIANCÉ met at the homecoming football game and I dropped out and he moved away the same month. We were in a LDR for 4 years...

we’ve been living together for 6 months bow. I moved from Mississippi to North Dakota to be with him. It was one hell of a commitment, lots of hard work and nonstop communication but it was sooo worth it in the end 😍😍😍 (yes i did gain weight) 😂😭

If both people are committed to making it work, yes!! My boyfriend and I have been long distance from day one. We met in Vegas where I live, and he was only visiting. We’ve been together over 2 years now, and FINALLY in 8 weeks I am making the move so we can be together. As long as the trust, communication, and support is there from both people, they absolutely work!
