3am Sunday morning on February 17th I was awoken suddenly as my water broke. I hollered for my Fiance as he just happened to be in the bathroom. I say "So either I just wet myself or my water just broke". I called L&D and they said to come in. Since I was only 33w5d and I wasn't having any contractions, 0 pain or pressure I figured they would do what they needed to postpone labor and I would be in the hospital for a while so I decided I would take a shower, and finish packing my bag. We had just set an induction date for March 5th only 3 days prior so I didn't have much packed or ready to go yet. By the time we were heading out the door it was about 4am, by this time I'm starting to feel a little pressure and very minor pain. Nothing like contractions. At about 4:20 I get to the room at the hospital and the contractions have now started, my Doctor checks to see where I'm at and I hear ... "You are 100% we need to get to the OR now!" By this time it's about 4:35 I haven't even been admitted yet, no monitors, no IV... nothing. We are in the OR everyone is frantic, Dr gets the US machine and luckily both babies are Cephalic. Dr says they are coming now time to push. Declan (Baby A) was born at 4:44a. They finally get an IV in my hand after Declan is born all while I'm pushing for the next baby. Raleigh (Baby B) was born at 4:48a. My 15 min labor was not what I was expecting, especially with twins but I can't complain! I held my boys for about 2 minutes and off to the NICU they went with Daddy right behind. They had their 1 week birthday yesterday and are doing amazing. Have been breathing on their own since birth, already are gaining weight and will be moving to cribs out of the incubators today! We are so truly blessed.
