When to bbt

Question

For the last 2 mornings ive woken at 4.20am. I normall take my temp at 6.30 when I wake up. I havent got up at 4.20 just wake check the time and go back to sleep. Do I use the temp from 4.20am or 6.30am?

This happens to me ALLLL the time 😑 I temp both times, and compare the readings. Oddly enough,  for me, the temps dont fluctuate much between the two, but I usually use my first temp.  Today, for example, i woke at 3:48am and temped (98.42) then again when it was actually time to wake up at 4:50am (98.38)  so not too far off from each other. And since I am in my luteal phase right now, the temp fluctuations dont need to be analyzed,  so really, for me, it didnt matter which temp I used for charting (as they were close enough). Huge fluctuations are harder to know - so use the first one! But remember to (Try to) Ignore all temp fluctuations during your luteal phase (so many women over analyze, and consequently stress) over every little dip and rise after O. Ignore that! You only need to focus on the 3 elevated temps after O, and a substantial dip right before AF. (Or 16+ days of elevated temps signifies potential pregnancy) but all dips and blips in between do not need to be stressed about! Good luck!!!

Depends on how your body responds to early wake up. I’d note both temps and see which ones seem to make the most sense with your chart over the next week. Just don’t determine ovulation by those temps alone.
