Advice on losing weight?

Hi everyone! I need y’all as advice. I am trying to lose weight in order to be healthy -I don’t really care about the number, rather I just want my body to be in the best condition it can be. I know for a fact I need to cut out soda and sweets (I have a huge sweet tooth) and have recently joined the gym-my goal is to run about 6 miles a week (2 miles each session, which is achievable for me at the moment). Any ideas on how to better tone up my body in general? I’m all in for putting the work in, just need some guidance. The black blurs on my body are just tattoos that I don’t want to be identifiable should anyone I know come across this😂 thanks so much in advance!
