Measles outbreak
Just going to preface this with I am NOT trying to start a debate on vaccinations.
A few months back my bloodwork came back saying my immunity to measles was low. It’s there, but low. My doctor said a booster isn’t an option while pregnant but after baby I can get another dose/booster.
As many of you I’m sure have seen there have been more and more cases of measles being discovered. There was just a case discovered in the next town over.
Here’s where I’m concerned. I am a teacher and have a student who is not vaccinated. My school nurse told me that he should be OK based on herd immunity of the rest of the students in our school.
I called my doctor to see what sort of precautions I should be taking- we are constantly lysoling the whole classroom to keep germs out. Both for my sake and all the other kids in my room.
I am just so nervous about possibly contracting measles and passing it to my baby during pregnancy. I know anyone can contract it and spread it, not just my non vaccinated student.
Anyone ever have a low immunity to anything? Any suggestions in addition to what I’m already doing?
