Would you sign a prenup?

I think a prenup means that the person doesn’t honestly trust you. I understand people want to protect their things and money but really? What’s the point of getting married if you don’t trust the person or even think that way. 
Would you guys sign a prenup or create one?

I make make one and sign one. It doesn’t mean you don’t trust that person. In a prenup, you can always write out a custody schedule, guardians if anything were to happen. It is also to make sure if a divorce were to happen, the prenup makes sure it doesn’t get nasty. They are very beneficial.

Not just about trust. I love my SO a lot but my family comes from money. I didn’t suggest a pre nup. He did. He says its to guarantee safety on both sides. It doesn’t matter if you love each other so much, if for some reason things go south in a few years, that pre nup is your financial security. It’s logical thinking.

Yep we signed a prenup. For us, my family has some land and properties and my family didn't want that to be a problem.

Absolutely.  When we got married we both had family assets that neither of us wanted on the table in case of divorce. I also did not want my 401(k) or other individual investments that I has before marriage to be on the table. It’s not a matter of trust.  It’s a matter of taking potentially contentious pre-marriage items off the table.  Some divorces go smoothly and others not.  I’ll be damned though if he ends up with a portion of my 401(k) I’ve had since I was 22.

If my husband was rich, had a lot of assets, ect or asked me to I would. Nobody goes into a marriage thinking itll end, but the fact of the matter is that they sometimes do. Nobody can guess it will, and nobody hopes so, but with everything else in life it's good to protect yourself in case bad things happen. It's like having a will when you're young and healthy. You don't expect or plan to die while young and healthy, but things happen
I however did not, because we got married young and neither of us really had anything to begin with, so everything we've gotten while married is both of ours

We won’t be signing one but I can understand couples that have ALOT to lose signing one. Some people inherit assets from family & that shouldn’t be on the table in the case of a divorce.

I don’t see how it means they don’t “trust” you. If the relationship is solid then it should never come to that. But people change and sometimes things don’t work out. I wouldn’t even be worried about it because in my mind, it’d never have to be applied. So I’d have no issue signing one

Only if one of us is a millionaire or something before we met. You need to protect your family business- its nothing personal.  However , neither of us being rich or owning a business or something? No point to me
